About

My name is Gina R. Benner, I live in Texas, but my heart will always be in my home state of Michigan. I am married to Ben Dominguez-Benner, the best husband in the world.

Almost four years ago I took a corporate job, as a way to not only payoff the medical bills of my beloved papillon Basil, but to further my skillset and business experience, with the idea that I would one day return to the world of animal welfare. Previously, I worked for Capital Area Humane Society in my hometown of Lansing, MI. Upon moving to Texas, I worked for the Austin Humane Society and then moved onto the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter.

On April 5, 2010 I will be returning to the animal welfare movement, taking the position Rescue and Animal Care Supervisor for the Humane Society of Williamson County.

This blog is intended to chronicle my adventures as I re-enter animal welfare and help the Humane Society of Williamson County reach all of their goals. Notably, my husband routinely pushes me to blog about my adventures and share what I know with everyone that wants to know.
